Your friend has a need and asks you to pray for him. Do you really take the time to seek the Lord in prayer on his behalf, or do you quickly offer up an urgent flare-prayer and then go about your own personal business again? Continue reading
With only a few days left until Christmas, there are still cards to mail, gifts to wrap, bags to pack, stockings to stuff, lights to put up, cookies to bake, and parties to attend.
If that’s you, then maybe it’s time Continue reading
There should be an obvious difference between Christians and non-Christians; but that’s not always the case. The unchurched have not held back from sharing their assessment of Christians. They see us as nothing more than a bunch of hypocrites. Continue reading
She knew this was one of their responsibilities, because we went over it months ago when we first signed them on. Yet, she spent two days sending me email after email, with one excuse after another, trying to get out of it. They’re known for pulling things like this. See what they spew from their mouths— the words from their lips are sharp as swords, and they think, “Who can hear us?” (Psalm 59:7)
She must have accidently butt-dialed me, because she would have never allowed anyone to hear her speaking to her husband like that. She wasn’t yelling, nor did she sound angry. “Do all things without complaining and disputing.” Philippians 2:14 (NKJV)
I recently came across the following pledge which convicted me of my own negativity. I’m passing this on to you as a challenge to see how long you can remain totally complaint-free. A day? A week? Longer? Maybe, only one hour? LOL! Trust me, it’s easier said than done, but not impossible if you make a conscious effort, when about to speak, to pause, ponder, and pray.
