Breaking the Cycle of Negativity

“Do all things without complaining and disputing.” Philippians 2:14 (NKJV)

ComplainingI recently came across the following pledge which convicted me of my own negativity. I’m passing this on to you as a challenge to see how long you can remain totally complaint-free. A day? A week? Longer? Maybe, only one hour? LOL! Trust me, it’s easier said than done, but not impossible if you make a conscious effort, when about to speak, to pause, ponder, and pray.

discourage-encourageNo one is exempt from discouragement. It’s universal. A disheartening remark from a family member, friend, or co-worker can easily change one’s mood for the rest of the day. A negative word from a teacher or school counselor has often resulted in a struggling student giving up on succeeding. A devastating incident, a prolonged sickness, or the sudden death of a loved one has the potential to cause an already stressed person to spiral downward even further. Continue reading
