She must have accidently butt-dialed me, because she would have never allowed anyone to hear her speaking to her husband like that. She wasn’t yelling, nor did she sound angry. He listened and made a comment or two, but she did most of the talking. The problem was she spoke to him in an all too familiar know-it-all, condescending, and disrespectful manner. Continue reading

Monday was a particularly difficult day at work this past week. Not only for me, but for many of my colleagues. We were each rushing back and forth from our desks checking on things, responding to various challenges via email, and returning calls to clients with pressing needs. If it wasn’t one thing, it was another – all morning long!
“It’s Monday!” I heard someone say, as someone else nodded in agreement while passing by. I heard the “It’s Monday!” phrase several other times that morning. Are all Mondays really this hectic and problematic? Continue reading
